The Blood Mysteries

by Samantha Fernandez

This track isn’t about me, it’s about ALL WOMEN and how we are a reflection of one another and actually all one in sisterhood.

Lyrics

We were born of woven women,

with our stories in our veins,
we live our lives as wise women, bare our truth with no shame,

were all chosen women, hear our womb song, we are all wild women, to mother earth we belong yeah…
I’ll lift you up as you lift up me, I’ll set you free as you set free me, its deep in our ancestries, our blood mysteries, eternally…
Born to be a Mother, with a child at my breast, I need to be nurtured too, to give my very best.
I was born to be a leader, earning money, but when do I get time to listen to the inner me.
I am an everyday Woman with a household to run, thinking for my family, I just wanna have some fun.
I was born to be an artist expressing from my heart, inspire the world to play their part.

I am a western Woman, to choose is my right, but to find a deep connection is my daily fight.

I was born a third world Woman with a culture rich and rare but I fight to find clean water, HOW IS THAT FAIR?!

I’ll lift you up as you lift up me, I’ll set you free as you set free me, its deep in our ancestries, our blood mysteries, eternally, woah…

Its time for sleeping Woman to awake, can you feel the Mountains begin to shake?

We are wild wise Women, now is the time to change the old paradigm,

so come join our circles, sisters sing your song, stand in your power, Women you are strong
Its time for sleeping Woman to awake, can you feel the Mountains begin to quake?

We are wild Woman and now is the time to change the old paradigm,
come join your sisters, sisters sing your song, stand in your power Women you belong,
I’ll lift you up as you lift up me, I’ll set you free as you set free me, its deep in our ancestries, our blood mysteries eternally…hey hey ooohhhhhh…

I need to thank Nell and the Birthing the Mother Women’s circle for the inspiration to write this one. THANK YOU. Also this is my first attempt at recording and producing a track solo. I fear there may be some way for me to go in the “audio engineers 101 handbook,” but I had fun, and while not technically perfect, I feel this track holds a great spirit!
